All about Google SEO and Facts from top to bottom

SEO KEYWORD TIPS:

Choose the best keywords.

What is a keyword?

Simply, the word you type in google search to search a webpage is a keyword.

It would be just a waste of time if you are going to optimize your site for irrelevant keywords. The unique and relevant keywords will post your webpage at the top of Google search.

Unique keyword means lesser the number of competing websites.

Who are they(competing websites)? They are those websites who are providing the same or almost the same information of yours. Only your keyword selection would differ you from them. Unique will be the keyword, Higher will be the Page Rank.

For example,

You are selling an ipod in delhi.

If a user types a word “Buy ipod mini blue colour in Delhi”

you may have following cases while using following different keywords.

eg.

1. “ipod” -> Your site will be lost in search :(

2. “Buy ipod” -> Your page will arrive and will be listed on page number 10000xxx (say)

3. “Buy ipod in delhi” -> here you are getting closer to higher page rank.

4. “Buy ipod mini in delhi” -> Your site will be listed in a few hundred pages of google search.

5. “buy ipod mini blue colour in delhi” -> This is going to be very unique and closer. Now ther you own a chance to list your website on the first page of google search depending upon numerous other factors. If no one is offering the same deal, there is a chance to get listed on the top of the search :)

Seo Tips Meta Tags & Page Title

Title is the name of your webpage.

Meta tags are the tags written in the HEAD section of the html webpage.

The Title and META tags should be different and the most relevant on every page of your website if you wish for most search engines to store and list them in the search results. Search engine robots reads your page mainly your title & meta tags are visible to them. Keeping them different on every page and most relevant to your content, will help your page to be listed in different searches on numerous search engines other that Google. Provided you have added your URL.

-------------------------------------------------

MAKE YOUR CONTENT VISIBLE

Create & Submit your Sitemap:

PageRank is relative and shared throughout a website by a unique voting system created by Google. I could spend two days trying to explain how PageRank works, but what it comes down to is having efficient navigation throughout your site. That where a site map page comes in. Since every page on the website will be linked to the sitemap, it allows webcrawlers (and users) to quickly and easily find content. This SEO tip is one of my favorite of top 10 SEO tips.

It use to take 4 clicks to get to a product page at www.delhiweb.net. By creating a site map, users and search engines can now access any page on the site with only two clicks. The PageRank from these deep pages went from 0 to 2 in about 3 months and the ranking went from virtually not existent to #1 almost across the board for nearly 2,000 pages on their site

-------------------------------------------------

USE ROBOTS.TXT

By now the easiest SEO tip you will ever do as it relates to search engine optimization is include a robots.txt file at the root of your website. Open up a text editor, such as Notepad and type “User-agent: *”. Then save the file as robots.txt and upload it to your root directory on your domain. This one command will tell any spider that hits your website to “please feel free to crawl every page of my website”.

Because the search engine analyzes everything it indexes to determine what your website is all about, it might be a good idea to block folders and files that have nothing to do with the content we want to be analyzed. You can disallow unrelated files to be read by adding “Disallow: /folder_name/” or “Disallow: /filename.html” and so on.

-------------------------------------------------

ENSURE THE CODE ACCURACY:

Simply validate your webpage to ensure the code accuracy. This is the most important part in order to allow search engine robote/spiders to read/crawl/parse your page correctly & accurately. Please follow these instructions:
There are several ways to validate the accuracy of your website’s source code. The four most important, in my opinion, are validating your search engine optimization, HTML, CSS and insuring that you have no broken links or images.

Start by analyzing broken links. One of the great SEO tip would be for you to use their tool to validate links. If you have a lot of links on your website, this could take a while.

Next, revisit the W3C to analyze HTML and CSS. Here is a link to the W3C’s HTML Validation Tool and to their CSS Validation Tool.

The most important step of SEO is to validate your search engine optimization. Without having to purchase software, the best online tool I’ve used is ScrubTheWeb’s Analyze Your HTML tool. STW has built an extremely extensive online application that you’ll wonder how you’ve lived with out.

One of the great feature of STW’s SEO Tool is their attempt to mimic a search engine. In other words, the results of the analysis will show you (theoretically) how search engine spiders may see the website.

Improving Google PAGE Rank (PR) SEO SCAM (SEO- Search Engine Optimization)">Improving Google PAGE Rank (PR) SEO SCAM (SEO- Search Engine Optimization)

Well after a long term working in web designing, I have seen many organizations who claim to improve your Page Rank.

These organizations are proudly known/labled as SEO Solutions/SEO GURUS/Website making solutions etc.

If you are planning to hire a SEO organization, then DO NOT GO WITH IT.

I aint against such organizations or i dont wana post a controversial comment. The thing/fact I would like to make clear is that, all that those organisations do, YOU CAN DO IT!

Except some(one or two) reputed SEO organizations, all of them are scammers & frauds. They scam their clients very confidently. Afterwards, If you want to discontinue with their services, You may lost everything!

Just in a few comments, I would like to explain them & their scams.

1. Some of them claims to deliver 1000-100000 unique clicks to your site. YES THEY DO.

But have you ever wondered, From where this traffic/clicks come from?
No?

The answer is: They frequently use Click Generators. A click generator is a snippet(in the form of a temporary web-page) which can be designed using any server-side scripting language like PHP. What it does? It just collect the list of proxy* available servers or selects from the predefined list & chose a random user agent** everytime and tempers the page(its own) headers applying this information to its headers and finally, REDIRECTS THE ITSELF TO YOUR SITE.

This may repeat after an every fraction of second. This is just the game of codes and clicks are added to your website.

(*proxy is a server which redirects the user to the requested webpage by supplying its own headers including IP ADDRESS/USER AGENT. It works like a middle user between the main user and the requested web page. The user sends request to the proxy & the proxy sends request to the web page. in return, Web page sends back the output to the proxy and after parsing the page once, the proxy sends it back to the main/primary user.)

(**User agent: user agent is the string which is sent as the header of the browser. This contains the name of the browser, OS Platform, OS version etc.)

What you lose?

If your SEO organisation using Automated click genetaters to deliver quality traffic, you may be blocked by Adsense(discussed later) or any other advertising/earning programs. If you are a publisher, None of the advertising agency will tolerate this and will terminate your membership at the time of payments.

If you are an advertiser and want to sell your product online, then just keep in mind if you are getting virtual traffic than how would they buy your product ;)

2. Some SEO agencies use shadow domains and redirects them to your website. Shadow domain is the one having the same name of your website with different extension. Or may be nearly the same. The SEO organization owns that domain and publish their domain(shadow of your site).

Now what?

if in case they are delivering real traffic to you, the traffic is actually coming from your shadowed domain which is owned by your SEO agency and redirected to your site.

There is no loss in carrying it forward. But the day your relationship with your SEO goes sour, they will terminate the redirection and turn all your traffic to their own site or any other client’s site having good relation with them.

Best way to find this out is:

Track the REFERRER FIELDS of your coming traffic. Just have a look from where the traffic is coming from. If you see a domain redirected to your site, just ask your SEO to sell that domain to you. To verify wether the domain is redirected just click on the referrer, If you get PAGE NOT FOUND ERROR (CODE 404), probably the domain is redirected to you.

Many other ways are used by SEO SCAMMERS.

BE AWARE!!

WHAT IS GOOGLE??

The obvious answer is: Google is the name of internet’s most popular search engine.
YES IT IS.

But, have you ever wondered from where the term GOOGLE come from?

Ans.

Basically, Google is the term derived from GOOGOL. Googol is the mathematical term used for a 1 followed by 100 (One followed by ONE HUNDRED zeros). The term GOOGOL was made up by:
Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner, and was popularized in the book, “Mathematics and the Imagination” by Kasner and James Newman.

The basic purpose why a company using this term to promote/organize their website is:
Most probably this is the key term to reflect a strong presence over internet.
Countless sites running and more then that, countless of websites are coming up day by day.
Google is the only organization which is and which can handle this much amount of data.

History of Google:

Google is now the most dominant search tool on the web, setting the standards that others try to follow and better, as yet unsuccessfully. It was founded in 1998 - relatively late compared to many of the popular search engines - by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who were graduate students from Stanford University.

Page and Brin had been working together on a search engine they called “BackRub” since early 1996, but with the encouragement of Yahoo! co-founder David Filo, they decided to start a company in 1998 and went looking for investors to back them. Google, Inc. was established on September 7, 1998. The founders hired Craig Silverstein - who was later to become Director of Technology - as their first employee, and started the business in a friend’s garage.

Google was still in an alpha stage, with an index of just 25 million pages, but it was handling 10,000 search queries every day. The search engine and the company grew quickly through word of mouth, initially with regular web users coming across the tool and finding the results to their liking.

Usage spread rapidly through press coverage, awards and recommendations, whilst Google’s effectiveness and relevance, its speed and reliability, plus clean visual effects and ‘quirky’ nature all contributed to a rapid increase in the number of new advocates.

Google took a major step forward in 2000 when it replaced Inktomi as the provider of supplementary search results on Yahoo. Following this it won further successes and provided search data to Yahoo as its primary results, as well as to AOL, Netscape, Freeserve and BBCi in the UK. This gave Google exceptional coverage of web searches and established its reputation as one of the most reliable and accurate search tools, making it the clear market leader.

Despite losing the Yahoo relationship in 2004, Google continued to increase its coverage of the web search market and developed numerous regional versions of its search tool, both in English and other languages, so that its global dominance grew. In the UK, Google now accounts for over 70% of web searches that are made.

Google has also been actively developing a range of search options, including an image search, news search, shopping search (Froogle) and local search options. In addition, following Google’s IPO in early 2005 it has set itself on a course for Internet domination and to challenge the position of Microsoft as the leading provider of computer services. There has been a series of announcements of new products, including the email service Gmail, the impressive Google Earth product, Google Talk to compete in the growing VoIP market, Google Base and Google Book Search, which is part of its ambitious project to make the content of thousands of books searchable online

Google has become synonymous with search and has entered the dictionary as a verb - ‘to google’ something. The expansion and integration of all Google’s different services is making it a dominant player in the online market, but to many websites, Google is also the ultimate ranking target that will make a significant difference between the volumes of traffic received from prospective customer searching the web.

Google plays a Search Engine

A program searches documents for specified keywords and returns a list the documents where the keywords were found.

How it works:
Typically, a search engine works by sending out a SPIDER to fetch as many documents as possible. Another program, called an indexer then reads these documents and creates INDEX based on the words contained in each document. Each search engine uses a PROPRIETARY ALGORITHM to create its indices such that, ideally, only meaningful results are returned for each QUERRY.

SPIDER: Spider is the program which crawls/traverse/reads the web pages. And creates the listing of all the content.

INDEXER: Indexer is the indexes the pages according to their data/content/keywords/meta tags relevancy.

PROPRIETARY ALGORITHM: A proprietary algorithm is a sequence of steps or rules performed to achieve a specific goal, belonging to a commercial company as it has been trademarked or patented by its owner/organization.

QUERRY: A querry is the request sent using a navigational form developed in languages like HTML etc. The main purpose is to get the relevant output for the requested keyword. And in the output, user gets the links of the webpages sent through search engine index. Sorting of these pages depends upon numerous factors(discussed later).

How search engine works?

Search Engine is the most complicated programs in itself. It includes incredibly detailed processes and methodologies, and are updated all the time. This is a bare bones look at how search engines work to retrieve your search results. All search engines go by this basic process when conducting search processes, but because there are differences in search engines, there are bound to be different results depending on which engine you use.

  1. The searcher types a query into a search engine.
  2. Search engine software quickly sorts through literally millions of pages in its database to find matches to this query.
  3. The search engine’s results are ranked* in order of relevancy.

Ranking (will we discussed later)..
